Shiseido has announced the promotion of Morgan Tan to Senior Vice President of Prestige Brands Division in the China region. Moving up from her role as President Hong Kong, Tan will continue to lead Hong Kong while also being tasked with driving the growth of the Prestige Brands business under the new regional headquarters for the China region. L’Oréal has announced the launch of a new corporate venture capital fund, named BOLD Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development, which is aimed at ‘innovative startups with high growth potential.’ Looking to invest in business models specializing in marketing, R&I, digital, retail, communication, supply chain and packaging, L’Oréal has made its first investment with the purchase of a minority stake in Sillages Paris, a French startup specialising in online customisable fragrances using AI technology. Girls in uterus exposed to personal care and make-up chemicals likely to hit puberty earlier, says US study

A US study printed in journal Human Reproduction has reported that girls within the womb that are subjected to chemicals most commonly found in toothpaste, make-up, soap and other personal care products are more likely to reach puberty earlier. A total of 338 children in California took part in a long-term study from birth through to adolescence, with researchers testing the levels of chemicals such as parabens, triclosan and phenols in the mothers during pregnancy as well as the children from birth until adolescence. Coty and Amazon have joined forces to launch the new personal beauty assistant Let’s Get Ready, which will be available to use via the Echo Show in January. The use of Alexa voice control and Echo Show combines voice and visual content and allows consumers to use the occasion-based look planning service.
