Walgreens reaches out to Chinese consumers, adding Alipay to 3000 U.S. stores

Retail giant Walgreens has added the Chinese mobile payment platform Alipay to thousands of its stores across the U.S. Operated by Ant Financial Services Group, the new Alipay collaboration will allow Chinese consumers to use the service in 3000 Walgreen stores across major cities such as New York and LA, with the rollout expected to increase to 7000 stores by April. Imerys Talk America, talc supplier for Johnson & Johnson, has filed for bankruptcy protection in the wake of a multitude of lawsuits purporting that its products are linked with cancer. The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy following nearly a decade of multibillion-lawsuits, stating it doesn’t have the financial backing to deal with the 15,000 lawsuits made against its talc mineral product.
