Beiersdorf is upping its open innovation activity with the launch of a new communications strategy. ‘PEARLFINDERS – We Open Innovation’, as the Nivea manufacturer’s new open innovation communications umbrella is known, is designed to strengthen Beiersdorf’s images as an innovative and trustworthy partner.
“The collaboration with external innovation partners from industries and the scientific community is an important field for our Research & Development,” said Andreas Clausen, Corporate Director Open Innovation & Innovation Portfolio. “Under the new communications umbrella PEARLFINDERS we want to increase our visibility as an attractive and trustworthy partner.”
Beiersdorf has a long history of external cooperation, with the original Nivea Crème itself deriving from a collaboration with dermatologist Dr Paul Gerson Unna. The company operates a number of open innovation formats, including its Pearlfinder platform – to be renamed Trusted Network, the Innovation Pitch hosted at In-Cosmetics as well as its in-house Supplier Fair and Formulation Academy.
