Birchbox has announced the launch of its new business incubrator program named Birchbox Breakthrough, which looks to boost new beauty brands.
Aimed at helping beauty entrepreneurs make an impact, the bi-annual initiative is said to be one of the first in the UK beauty industry and accepts applications from emerging brands from any sector of the market, such as skincare, cosmetics or hair care.
The subscription box company will offer participants knowledge from an expert advisory panel from within the sector, with the companies taking on an ‘intensive’ four-month program of workshops, meetings and mentoring. Subjects include marketing, PR, logistics, and finance.
Each brand to successfully complete the program will be able to pitch their product for possible listing on the Birchbox site. Applicants must have been trading for for than three years and have a unique brand offering.
Birchbox UK’s Managing Director Sally Scott said, “We know that our subscribers love the way we introduce them to new products. It’s always been Birchbox’s mission to make it easier and more fun for our consumers to discover new beauty brands and through the Breakthrough programme we not only get a chance to give back to new brands by sharing some of our passion, experience and industry knowledge, but we can also fulfil our discovery promise to our subscribers.”
