Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has been awarded an MBE for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry, having this week attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace to receive the award from HM the Queen.
British entrepreneur and make-up artist Tilbury has had a 26-year career within the industry and has developed her own Charlotte Tilbury line, which has won awards itself.
Speaking at the time of the awards, Tilbury said, “Today has been one of the most magical days of my life. I am so delighted and thrilled to receive this honour, especially from Her Majesty, the Queen who has been an endless source of inspiration to me!
“She is not only an icon of this country, but of the world. To be recognized for my contribution to the beauty industry is a dream come true! I want to thank all of my supportive family, my wonderful friends, my dream team, and my inspirational industry peers who have supported me along the way! Thank you to EVERYONE who has helped me realise my dream of sharing the confidence-boosting powers of makeup magic with the world. Give everyone the right makeup and they can conquer the world…”
Throughout her career Tilbury has also been committed to female-focused charities and is a Global Ambassador for Women for Women International, while also working with the Lady Garden Campaign.
