Dematology line Clean & Clear was originally developed by Revlon in 1956 as a range of skin care products suitable for sensitive skin. Yet the brand was acquired in 2000 by Johnson & Johnson, who relaunched it as an anti-acne line. Targeting the teen market, J&J used the Clean & Clear brand to experiment with online marketing initiatives such as a digital gaming promotion on The Sims Social in 2012. In 2015, Johnson & Johnson announced appointed transgender teen Jazz Jennings to appear in Clean & Clear commercials.
