Egypt to tighten toy standards, including make-up

Egypt’s Organization for Standards and Quality is reviewing its standards for children’s toys, according to a report published by Chemical Watch.

The new regulations set updated migration limits that apply to toys that have a reasonable chance of being placed in a child’s mouth or are designed to be used close to, on or in the mouth, for example, cosmetics.

The new standards are compliant with European and ISO standards in all but three categories – the Egyptian authority has set lower limits for barium, cadmium and lead. ffff
