Reality star Kim Kardashian West has been announced as a headline speaker at the Beautycon networking event taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre on 14th – 15th July.

The reality star has built up a loyal fan base for her KKW Beauty range and is a huge coup for the two-day event, which has witnessed strong growth since its first show in 2011 and is set to showcase over 100 brands, including Kylie Cosmetics and Charlotte Tilbury.

Kardashian West was announced via the event’s official Instagram account in a message that read, “’Hey dolls, @kimkardashian is literally coming to #BeautyconLA. Bible? Bible.’

Other high profile speakers include Kardashian West’s make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic as well as her hair stylist Chris Appleton. Salma Hayek, Emma Roberts, ‘Riverdale’ star Madelaine Petsch, and Lady Gaga’s make-up artist are also on the bill.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Beautycon CEO Moj Mahdara, said, “It’s also our first year to offer ‘B-well,’ which is an area of 20 to 30 brands showcasing supplements and nutritional items focused on well-being, and ‘K-town,’ because Korean beauty is a billion-dollar industry globally, with $996 million funneled into the U.S. and our market is super-duper interested in international products.
“Our other goal is to build the ultimate retail experiential pop-up in the beauty market. The numbers we’re seeing on the consumer spend are mind-blowing. People come to Beautycon to shop!”

Mahdara also touched on last year’s September show and the emphasis actress Zendaya placed on ‘colorism and the degree of darkness that constitutes someone who is African American and what is or isn’t acceptable to Hollywood.’

She continued, “We’re so proud that these types of conversations are taking place at an event that we’ve worked really hard to create and we’re grateful that talent rises to the occasion to talk about intense topics that are beyond the cosmetic industry. In L.A., we expect to have discussions around entrepreneurship, gender fluidity, mind and body, and a panel on redefining masculinity that I’m really excited about.”
