Lancôme was originally founded in Paris in 1935 by perfumer Armand Petithjean. Lancôme entered the market with a range of five fragrances before Petitjean launched his first all-purpose skin repair cream in 1936, followed by make-up, cosmetics, and skincare products. The high-end brand was acquired by L’Oreal in 1964 and quickly became one of L’Oreal’s leading international luxury brands. The most famous Lancôme products include their Hypnôse mascaras and Visionnaire Range of skincare products which contain patented ingredients aimed to improve skin texture qualities, especially in pore reduction, fine lines and uneven skin tone.
