L’Oréal has announced the appointment of Christophe Babule as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Babule will succeed Christian Mulliez, who is standing down for personal reasons after 36 years with the French beauty giant.
Mulliez will remain in situ to help Babule settle in to his role until the end of April 2019, with his operational responsibilities handed over to Babule following the AFM in February 2019. Babule will report to Chairman and CEO Jean-Paul Agon.
“I would like to thank Christian Mulliez and express my gratitude for his outstanding commitment and important contribution to L’Oréal’s success during all these years,” said Agon. “Thanks to his high level of expertise and his personal qualities, we have built teams of very high standard all over the world. We wish him every success in his new life. We are pleased to welcome Christophe Babule to the Executive Committee who brings us his significant experience of financial management and deep knowledge of business and Asia.”
Babule joined L’Oréal after university in 1988 and has remained within the group ever since, taking on various senior roles including Director of Administration and Finance in China and, most recently, Administration & Financial Director for the Asia Pacific Zone.
