Every year, the French beauty giant partners with the American Association for the Advancement of Science to identify five exceptional US-based female postdoctoral scientists; each are awarded US$60,000 to advance their research.
“The For Women in Science program was created out of a belief that the world needs science and science needs women,” said Lauren Paige, Vice President of Public Affairs & Strategic Initiatives at L’Oreal USA. “As a company that relies on the contributions of a global scientific workforce that is 70 percent women, we’re proud to honor extraordinary female scientists and support their ongoing research to change the world.”
Applications are open through February 2, 2018. The AAAS manages the program’s two-round application and peer-review process, with fellowship winners announced next October and celebrated at an awards ceremony in Washington DC.
