Sephora has announced Jean-André Rougeot as the new CEO Sephora Americas effective February 4th, according to a report by WWD.com.
Arriving at Sephora from his 12-year stint as CEO of Benefit Cosmetics, Rougeot succeeds Calvin McDonald, who left Sephora last July. Rougeot will report to Global President and CEO Christopher de Lapuente and will be tasked with duties such as upholding Sephora’s status as leading prestige retailer in the U.S. and Canada as well as grow the business in Mexico and Brazil.
Speaking to WWD, de Lapuente said, “Jean-André’s extensive leadership track record, breadth of knowledge of the North American prestige beauty and retail marketplace, as well as a Sephora brand partner for more than a decade, set him up to lead our teams to continue fueling our 20 year North America success story.”
Rouget continued, “I’m very excited to join Sephora and look forward to working with the team to build on the success of this iconic omni-retail brand.
“Together, we will continue strengthening Sephora’s brand partnerships, innovating and delighting clients with the best experience and assortment of prestige beauty products, whether they are shopping in our stores or across our outstanding digital platforms.”
