In a first-of-its-kind partnership Sephora has teamed up with Google to broadcast the beauty retailer’s video content on the Google Home Hub in store.
The Google Home Hub will be installed in 10 Sephora stores across the US and will allow consumers to navigate the device in what is being described as a ‘dream vanity experience’ while also purchasing in store and online.
Julia Chen Davidson, Head of Partner Marketing for Google Home and Nest, said, “We think adding a visual element of giving people a glance just adds so much more dimensionally to experience [of using the Google Home Hub].
“We couldn’t be more thrilled about this partnership and opening up the possibilities of what people can do with the Google Home Hub.”
According to Kristy Frivold, Sephora, Senior Director Innovation Lab, the collaboration will give its clients a ‘convenient way to play’, with the voice assistant helping when two hands are needed to apply make up.
Shoppers can use voice commands with the Google Home Hub within Sephora stores, with note cards in the vanity areas including names of products used in certain videos.
Frivold continued, “Our goal is to make beauty more accessible and more personalized.
“So when we approach new digital launches we always do it with clients with the focus on it. How can we leverage this new technology to engage and make beauty more efficient and fun?”
