Shiseido Americas has announced the promotion of SVP, NARS, Melissa Sperau to the newly created leadership role of President US, effective 15th January.

Reporting to Marc Rey, the role was created as part of a wider Shiseido Americas’ plan to drive local sales in the US, with Sperau taking on duties such as US sales and marketing for bareMinerals, BUXOM, Laura Mercier, NARS, Shiseido brand, Shiseido Fragrances, Clé de Peau Beauté and Serge Lutens.

Sperau will also be expected to strengthen the company’s sales and marketing in the US by working with retail partners and look at competitive opportunities.

Rey stated, “The United States is the largest, most competitive and dynamic beauty market in the world. As the market and distribution channels continue to evolve and grow at a rapid pace, it is imperative that Shiseido place a dedicated focus on the U.S. market while continuing to grow its presence and brand portfolio worldwide.
