German e-commerce site Zalando is planning to expand its beauty offer to some five markets, according to a report published by Reuters.
The fashion app, which added a men’s grooming line to its German site in October, will extend the full beauty line up to Sweden and Denmark, effective immediately, before rolling out its beauty offer to France, Belgium and Italy by May.
“With Beauty, we want to empower our broad customer base to complete their style choices with the latest in global beauty trends including natural, Korean and science-driven brands. We see that three out of five customers buy fashion products when shopping beauty, underlining that these offers go hand in hand,” said Pamela Wade-Lehmann, Head of Beauty.
Zalando has also welcomed eight brands from The Estee Lauder Companies portfolio to its German site, including Aramis, Bumble and Bumble, Darphin, Glamglow, Smashbox and Bobbi Brown, many of which will be available in its newer markets too. Zalando has ambitions to triple sales via the site over the next five years positioning itself as the app of choice for fashion purchases.
